“iPads are designed as inherently personal devices. There are no user logins or custom desktops for different users as there might be on a laptop or desktop. Many schools however share iPads between classes and students in much the same way that they share laptop carts. Laptops can accommodate different user logins and therefore protect individual student data.

 

iPads aren’t laptops and can’t be used the same way. Most iPad apps cache your login information. In other words, once you’ve logged in, they automatically remember your login information and open your data when the app is opened again. The little love letter or risqué rap lyrics that Joey wrote will pop right up on the screen for the next user who opens the app.

 

A 1:1 environment is where every student gets his own dedicated iPad and it’s unquestionably the preferred model for school use. You’ll have to overcome quite a few obstacles if you expect to share iPads between students. iPads just aren’t built to be shared. Having said that, there are some considerations that make it a little easier and safer to share them. Here’s a few:”

How To Capture Ideas at Presentations and Events by Doing Visual Recording on the iPad

Robin Good: Rachel Smith explains in very simple words how you can use your iPad to capture and record visually the key ideas and concepts presented during a lecture, keynote, training class or presentation.

She provides a good round-up of four relevant tools that can be used for this task, analyzing their key pros and cons as well as providing logistic and technical advice on how to best organize and setup yourself for doing visual recording on the iPad.

As similar tools will provide more ready-made icons, templates and patterns available for this kind of real-time idea-capturing, this rare and pioneering visual recording work will begin to catch up even more rapidly.

Leerlingen motiveren om woordpakketten schriftelijk in te oefenen is vaak moeilijk.
Waarom niet eens iets anders proberen?
Wat dacht je van het online inoefenen van woordpakketten bijvoorbeeld.
Dit kan via Bloon.nl , een programma dat je zowel in de klas als thuis aan de leerlingen kan aanbieden.
Bloon zorgt ervoor dat leerlingen gemotiveerd zijn om via de computer hun woordpakketten in te oefenen.

In mijn scholengemeenschap zijn er alvast enkele leerkrachten heel tevreden over deze website. Extra voordeel van Bloon is dat het leerlingen, meer dan op de schriftelijke manier, kritisch laat kijken naar hun antwoord, dit zelf laat corrigeren en uiteindelijk opnieuw laat inoefenen.

Je studententijd mag dan misschien gevuld geweest zijn met de spreekwoordelijke seks, drugs en rock&roll, om je kansen op de arbeidsmarkt gaaf te houden is het beter dat potentiële werkgevers daar geen sporen van kunnen terugvinden.

 

Een van de dingen die je dus moet doen voor je je cv uitstuurt is je Facebookprofiel onder handen nemen. Uiteraard is het een hels karwei om al je foto’s, gedeelde links, commentaren en statusupdates één voor één te overlopen om na te gaan of er geen ‘onbetamelijke’ dingen tussenstaan. Ben je al enkele jaren erg actief op Facebook, dan is hier simpelweg geen beginnen aan.

AppMachine maakt app development mogelijk voor iedereen

Op het Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is officieël AppMachine gelanceerd. Een nieuw online platform waarop iedereen native iOS- en Android-apps kan ontwikkelen. Dit is mogelijk in een zeer korte tijd en voor maar een fractie van de normale kosten. Na 2 jaar programmeren toonde het bedrijf gisteren voor het eerst een preview van het platform en is nu eindelijk de bètastatus bereikt.

 

Voor het bouwen van een app in AppMachine zijn geen technische- of designvaardigheden nodig. Verder zijn de apps ontwikkeld met AppMachine stuk voor stuk native – ze gebruiken het iOS- of Android-besturingssysteem. Daardoor zijn ze veel sneller en gebruiksvriendelijker dan mobiele websites en HTML5-apps. Ze bieden zo een ware app-ervaring.
